ISO 14001 Certification for Australian Companies
An ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certificate provides evidence to your stakeholders (clients, regulators, employees, public, etc.) that you have pro-actively identified where your organisation, processes, products and services may cause an impact on the environment and that you are committed to reduce negative impacts to a reasonable minimum.
It is a simple fact of life that all business activities cause some form of environmental impact. A common misunderstanding is that ISO14001 would require you to reduce or eliminate all impacts.
We help companies across Australia achieve ISO 14001 certification. So, if you run a business in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney or beyond, simply get in contact with the team at ATLAS Certification to get started.
Certification for Reducing Your Company’s Environmental Impact
Obviously, the idea is that you do as much as you reasonably can to reduce your organisation’s negative impacts, but the standard does NOT prescribe a required performance level and it is up to you to determine how far you want to take it. As long as you have a system in place to assist you in making the right decision, taking into consideration the relevant data generated by your EMS.
ISO14001:2015 requires you to put a Management System in place that enables you to identify where you may cause an environmental impact, to assess the significance of that impact and then to determine which of these impacts you might be able to eliminate or reduce to a level that you are (more) comfortable with.
ISO14001:2015 (or AS/NZS/ISO14001:2016) is based on the same Management System principles as ISO9001:2015 and works in exactly the same way, albeit of course with a focus on the environmental performance rather than on meeting customer requirements.
ISO14001:2015 often saves organisations a lot of money in the long run. Improved process efficiencies, reduction of waste, reduction of energy use.
And finally, like any type of certification we offer, it opens a lot of doors to potential clients which will otherwise remain firmly shut!
